A global directory connecting ideas, investors, and the insurance required to back them up. Designed to accelerate investment in the world’s most ambitious sustainability projects.
One of the world's most ambitious sustainability projects.
The SMI brings together a growing coalition of the largest companies in the world who share an ambition to accelerate global progress towards a sustainable future. As the strategy-design partner to the SMI, our role is to deliver a seamless digital experience across the initiative to ensure that ideas meet backing.
The Sustainable Markets Initiative – launched by His Majesty King Charles III when he was the Prince of Wales – aims to lead and accelerate the world's transition to a sustainable future by putting Nature, People and Planet at the heart of global value creation. Our latest contribution, as founding partner, to the SMI is the Terra Carta X-Change, a digital platform showcasing the world’s most ambitious sustainability projects and the insurance products that enable them.
Reflecting the global ambition and reach of the SMI, we created a bespoke digital planet Earth and an easily accessible directory, that gives investors and other interested parties an outline of the projects and investment opportunities mandated by the SMI. With a few clicks, users can access details about each project’s scope, financial overview, impact assessment and relevant points of contact.
Terra Carta signatory
Manyone is a proud supporter of the Terra Carta. Marking fifty years of engagement as a global voice for change on sustainability and environmental issues, HRH, Charles, The former Prince of Wales launched the Terra Carta, a bill of rights that puts Nature, People and Planet at the heart of global value creation.
The "Earth Charter" provides a roadmap for businesses to move towards an ambitious and sustainable future; one that will harness the power of Nature combined with the transformative power, innovation and resources of the private sector.
The charter outlines ten areas for action and comprises nearly 100 actions for businesses to follow towards a more sustainable future.
Insuring sustainably
In addition to the investment opportunities, the X-Change also provides pinpoint access to insurance products that are relevant to the areas of investment presented by the SMI. In close partnership with Lloyds Bank, the leading partner of the SMI’s Insurance Task Force, the X-Change showcases innovative new insurance products and services, along with critical financial and risk management support across several industries and geographies to drive positive change.
Chaired by Lloyds and supported by companies such as AIG, Allianz, AON and Tokio Marine Kiln, the insurance products presented on the X-Change signal and underline the immense potential for driving sustainable change through the SMI.
The Terra Carta X-Change will continue to grow over the coming months and years as more and more investment opportunities are added to the platform. In 2022, it will also feature a directory of investors looking to direct their funds towards a sustainable future.
Do we want to go down in history as the people who did nothing to bring the world back from the brink in time to restore the balance when we could have done? I don’t want to. And just think for a moment – what good is all the extra wealth in the world, gained from “business as usual”, if you can do nothing with it except watch it burn in catastrophic conditions?
