Celebrating literature’s transformative power
We partnered with Gutkind, a contemporary publishing house, to develop a compelling identity that celebrates literature’s transformative power. Targeting both literary aficionados and mainstream audiences, the brand’s new distinct geometric logo and visual identity is both elegant and bold, reflecting the nature of writing itself: simple forms creating profound impact.
Standing out in a historic industry
In a market dominated by publishing houses with near centuries of experience, how do you announce yourself as a serious player? Gutkind needed a distinctive identity to position itself as a credible yet daring force, bridging niche and bestseller audiences. They needed a brand and visual identity that would reflect their ambition, authors, and spirit.
Building a language-inspired identity
We helped translate this intangible sensation into an elegant yet bold identity. Set apart, the 26 letters of the alphabet are merely building blocks. But when combined into words and sentences they shape artistic expression. It is the nature of writing itself: The combination of simple symbols that form written language, which in its most artful form we call literature. That was our guiding principle when creating the visual identity and logo for Gutkind – a provocatively simple geometric logo celebrating the nature of literature itself.
Making a striking debut
Launching a publishing house is no mean feat. Launching one as ambitious as Gutkind requires something special. Gutkind’s new visual identity honors the craft of writing while asserting the publishing house’s modern, audacious spirit. Its bold design secured a strong market entry, establishing the brand as a fresh, compelling player in the literary world.
