Based on future visioning and strategic foresight, we’re working closely with Aker Solutions on building a future vision for their new engineering consultancy venture.
Visions of the future
The chances of creating a successful business venture increase when knowing what to plan for. This is at the centre of our collaboration with Aker Solutions. Known for their work in building complex energy projects, Aker is expanding their business with an engineering consultancy branch.
For this, they engaged Manyone to support them with developing the vision and the tools they need to stay one step ahead of market changes and their competitors.
Our work with Aker Solutions is driven by a strategic focus to identify future signals of change. Signals that will influence, disrupt and shape the future of the energy industry and society at large. Achieving a stronger understanding of the probable future, enables more flexible and strategic decision-making as to how their business can grow and provide value in the future.
Artefact of the future
To do this, we applied both our design fiction and horizon scanning approaches to create a tangible digital artefact – that could form the foundation for envisioning Aker Solutions’ future engineering consultancy.
With the artefact as the main driver for moving forward, we engaged in strategic discussions about the future items such as brand, business models, strategy processes, positioning, culture, products and services.
'The artefact explains our strategy, gives us a tool to get into future-back mode, and is a sandbox which allows us to test new ideas, business models.'
Having created the artefact alongside key stakeholders within and outside Aker Solutions, we’re now supporting them in driving their change process with the end goal of creating the best possible platform for them to launch their new consultancy.
