A sprint to bring clarity, vision, and core value to a pre-seed GenAI startup
As a challenger startup in the crowded space of AI, the Ask Safely team needed clarity around their market offering as their MVP prototype had started to balloon in scope. We helped them boil down their product to their hero offering and build a focused foundation for the product, brand, and investor conversations – all in just two weeks.
A clear and simple value offer
Aligning vision with value
Ask Safely was moving quickly and were already developing an MVP without a clearly defined value proposition. They needed to articulate what they were building and why. Our challenge was to help them find clarity, prioritize one core “hero” offering, and translate that into a simple, compelling story to raise funding, and guide the development team to build an MVP product.
Updated branding applied to the core MVP offering
Distilling the essential
We dove into existing materials, facilitated hands-on workshops, and unpacked user pain points. From there, we reframed the product around a bold core pain point and feature: a genAI chat tool that deletes chats (and all user data) by default so people can stay private. This value was then brought to life across brand direction, a pitch deck, and early UI prototypes that showcased the key interaction.
Visual exploration and experience design of the "delete by default" interaction
A sharper product, narrative and path to funding
The work led to a full product renaming and an immediate shift in dev team priorities. Instead of focusing on complex features, onboarding, and copy, the team focused on bringing the “delete by default” interaction to life. Our deck, branding, and UI screens gave Ask Safely a confident, credible narrative – one that positions them strongly for funding and future growth.
Wow! Amazing how much confidence and clarity you helped us generate in a matter of two weeks. So excited to get this thing out in the world.
