In a world of AI, complexity, and constant change, many leaders are navigating a quiet tension: the loss of what we know and the uncertainty of what comes next.
Progress increasingly depends on our ability to connect across different perspectives and ways of understanding what is emerging. This is the business of human connection. Yet complexity makes such connection both more important and more difficult.
At the heart of the business of human connection are two questions:
How do we create connection rather than division when complexity challenges the way we work, think, and lead together?
What is the competitive advantage of being human in a world where AI is becoming increasingly capable?
What does that mean as we increasingly talk about industry 5.0, where it is all about human-centricity, sustainability, and resilience?
To explore these questions, Edmonia Baker brings together Thomas Jul, CEO of KMD, and Professor Mary Uhl-Bien, one of the world's leading scholars on complexity and leadership. Edmonia is a founder and PhD working with leaders on the potential of human connection in complexity. The conversation will be moderated by Jakob Stigler, Partner at Manyone.
Together, they will explore what leadership requires when answers are incomplete and progress depends less on having the answers and more on creating the conditions for people to think, connect, and move forward together.

The format is intentionally interactive. Using a real leadership challenge brought by Thomas Jul as a starting point, participants will be invited into the exploration. Themes include:
What becomes more important about being human as AI becomes increasingly capable?
How can we rethink competence, talent, performance, and success in an age of AI?
What does leadership require when certainty is no longer available?
The session itself offers a practical example of leadership in complexity, and perhaps some inspiration for the structure, content, and purpose of your next morning meeting.
This event is for leaders, decision-makers navigating uncertainty and complexity, and for those responsible for shaping leadership, culture, and organizational development.
